Contour Magazine is a magazine you can read without an account, a subscription or a login. It collects very little about its readers, and this page explains what that is, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
Contour Magazine is published by Fastlane Advisory FZ-LLC, which is the controller of any personal data processed through readcontour.com.

Contour Magazine handles personal data in line with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and, for readers in the European Union and the United Kingdom, the GDPR and the UK GDPR.
The site is built and hosted on Framer, a service of Framer B.V., Rozengracht 207B, 1016 LZ Amsterdam, the Netherlands. When you open a page, your browser sends the technical data any website needs in order to deliver it: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page you asked for, the page you came from, and your browser and operating system.
Framer processes this data on the publisher's behalf to deliver the site, keep it stable and protect it against misuse. Contour Magazine does not combine this data with anything else and does not use it to identify you. To deliver pages quickly, Framer uses infrastructure in several countries, and transfers outside your own country rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Contour Magazine uses Framer's built-in analytics to see which pieces are read, where readers arrive from, and which countries and device types they use. Framer Analytics sets no cookies, creates no persistent identifiers and does not identify individual visitors. Contour Magazine only ever sees aggregated numbers.
Analytics
Cookies
Contour Magazine uses no cookies for advertising, tracking or analytics, and no third-party advertising networks. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first, and you will be asked for your consent where the law requires it.
When you write to the editor
If you email Contour Magazine, your address, your name and whatever you put in the message are used to read and answer it. Correspondence is kept for as long as it is needed for that purpose and then deleted, unless the law requires it to be kept longer.
If you send a letter intended for publication, it is only published with your permission and under the name you choose.
Links to other sites
Framer, to run the website, and Contour Magazine's email provider, to receive and answer your messages. Each processes data only to provide that service. Contour Magazine does not sell personal data and does not share it with advertisers. Data is only disclosed to anyone else where the law requires it.
Articles link to sources and to other websites, and the author page links to profiles on LinkedIn and elsewhere. These are plain links, so nothing is sent to those sites until you click. Once you are there, their own privacy policies apply.
Who receives your data
Your rights
The whole site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to Contour Magazine's systems and inbox is limited to the editor.
Depending on where you live, you have the right to know what personal data Contour Magazine holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, write to hello@readcontour.com. You do not need a form or a reason.
If you believe your data has been handled wrongly, you can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Security
Children
Contour Magazine is written for adults and is not directed at anyone under 16. It does not knowingly collect data from children.
